  • Aliaja was absolutely incredible at my son’s birth. She was still in the end of her student midwife days but acted as the seasoned, experienced midwife she is. She was the only part of my birth team to make it because my son came very quick. I shot out of bed at 10:45 and told my husband to call the midwives. Beau was born within 20 minutes. He was my third son planned for homebirth after 2 previous hospital inductions. Aliaja was the calm I needed. She was the perfect presence. I was laboring and transitioning in the shower when she ran in. All she had to do was look at me no I felt safe. I vividly remember panic when I was unsure if the baby was ok. I had never not been hooked up to monitors for birth. I had never had the freedom of movement and gravity. She looked at me and said "you're ok". And with that safety I felt, fetal ejection reflex kicked in and baby boy slipped right into her arms as I stood in the shower. Talk about the perfect catch! And she swiftly brought him straight to my chest. An effortless, hands off approach of a midwife that I didn't know I needed. Aliaja was born for this work. She is professional, knowledgeable, skilled, and most importantly believes in mamas and babies. I can't emphasize her calm presence enough. She was instantly my hero. The way she caught my baby and supported me in my power is something I will never forget. I know she could feel the oxytocin because she stayed with me for hours and her smile never faded. She was attentive and helpful post partum but also quiet and honored the sacred space of my bed where I didn't let go of my son and my husband for hours. After my placenta was delivered she helped me to clean up again and I felt so supported from her and the other midwives that later came. You could tell her team was so proud of her, too. She told me my birth made her a better midwife, but I need to tell her that her midwifery made me a better mother. I hope more and more people can experience her magic and the magic of homebirth. I'll be shouting from the rooftops

  • Aliaja is a gem! She eased all my worries & made this pregnancy and delivery such a beautiful experience. All visits were in the comfort of my home. I felt safe and secure. When the time came, I birthed at my own pace with little intervention. She let my body lead , validated my thoughts and feelings. I was very much seen & heard, even after the fact! Her postpartum care is immaculate. I am able to call/text with whatever questions/concerns and she's right there to help in however I may need. She really goes above and beyond, I'm so thankful for her! You can tell she really loves what she does, it's not just a job. Her energy radiates. I'd choose her 100x over. Hands down, the best midwife.

  • Aliaja was everything I needed in a midwife. She is caring and has the best demeanor. She was always quick to respond to anything I needed prenatal and super respectful of all my wishes for my home birth. This was my 4th baby and I’ve found It can be hard for a provider to leave you alone and do nothing during labor, which is what I wanted. She was amazing. Making sure baby and mom were safe but then giving me all the space I needed to labor in peace. I highly recommend her!!

  • Literally switched to midwifery care at 40w + 2days, met with Aliaja at noon 40w + 4days, and had my baby girl that night at 10pm. Aliaja called it a precipitous delivery. I have to praise Jesus for a supernatural pregnancy and a supernatural delivery. I prayed, the Lord heard and He answered! Another testament of His faithfulness. I also have to express my sincere gratitude for Aliaja’s exceptional care during the delivery of our baby girl. Her expertise, professionalism, and calm/caring demeanor were incredibly reassuring throughout the entire process including post partum. My husband and I felt completely supported, loved and cared for under the care of Aliaja. We are so grateful to have shared in this incredible, joyful and memorable experience with her.   • I found Aliaja late in pregnancy because our birth center closed on us. And it was the luckiest thing that could have happened to us. Aliaja came at the highest recommendation of my doula and great friend and we ended up having the home birth of our dreams. Her calm demeanor always put me at ease, knowing that were in good hands.   • Last summer my pregnancy started off feeling unnecessarily stressful under the care of an OB. About 7 weeks in, I knew I had to switch providers if I wanted to have the birth of my dreams. That's when we met with Aliaja of Bearthside Midwifery. We knew immediately she was the right fit for us. She was far more knowledgeable, she was confident, and she was calming and reassuring. We felt at ease in an instant. Aliaja brought her positive warm energy to every visit, and she was so great at providing what I needed before I ever knew I needed it. Appointments were never rushed and I looked forward to every single one. Quietly calming fears, and building my confidence one visit at a time. Having Aliaja at our side was an education for us parents-to-be, so much to learn along the way with pregnancy, birth and especially postpartum. The questions were endless and she never hesitated to give us answers and always encouraged us to keep asking. Going into my birth I honestly had no fears, which was exactly what I had wished for. I knew I was capable and that my body would do exactly what I needed it to do if I trusted it the way Aliaja did. In the end that dream of a peaceful home birth with a speedy delivery and a beautiful baby girl caught by her Dad and tenderly cared for by Aliaja all became my reality. I still can't believe it!! Aliaja feels like a part of our family after she ushered us into parenthood so seamlessly and with so much grace.   • cannot say enough good things about Aliaja!! She’s been apart of bringing both my boys earthside, and every time I’ve never felt so comfortable! She’s incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and nurturing! You name it she does it! The type of midwife that listens to your wants and lets you have the birth you’re desiring. Her at home services are a dream! No dreading having to load all the kids up to head to appointments she did everything from the comfort of my home! She allowed my older kids to be involved with hearing the babies heart beat, and “playing doctor”. They looked forward to having her come!   • BY FAR, THE BEST LABOR EXPERIENCE EVER! I know I jumped immediately into the labor experience but the prenatal care was just as phenomenal. Alaija has literally been heaven sent and was hand picked by God himself to guide me through this pregnancy and labor process. She is very understanding, patient and most importantly she listens. She listens to your concerns, fears, she shares in the excitement and her presence just makes you so comfortable. I especially loved the convenience of having home prenatal visits. As a working mom, it made it so much easier not to call off work if I didn’t have to. She literally worked around my schedule. Let’s chat about this LABOR. While labor is never easy, this has by far been the best experience for me. My first birthing experience was at a hospital, which was traumatizing to say the least, so my husband and I made the decision to do things differently this time and a home birth seemed like the best option for us. Honestly, I wouldn’t do it any other way. I was able to labor in the comfort of my own home surrounded by nothing but love and support. Shout outs to Mary Kay as well! She was the best birth assistant anyone could ask for. I loved how prepared they both were and how well they worked together. This was definitely a 1000% 5 ⭐️ experience. Thanks for helping to get our baby girl here the best way she could! 🩷

  • Aliaja was an amazing midwife for the home birth and delivery of my second baby! I was a late transfer, and started to receive care in my third trimester. I knew after the birth of my first son in the hospital that I wanted a different experience where I felt seen & heard, and that my opinion mattered. Aliaja was all of that and more! She is knowledgeable, kind, and respectful of all choices made by the birthing family. She was never more than a call or text away at all times, and answered all of my questions sincerely and in an unbiased way. Aliaja has such a calm, cool, and collected demeanor and it made all the difference during delivery! She was there in the wings, but letting my body lead the process and guiding my husband to support me during contractions. As someone who birthed in the hospital and at home, I can't tell you how big of a difference it makes delivering in your own home and space, where you feel trusted and heard. It was amazing, and I have no one but Aliaja to thank for that! The level of care and attention during and after labor is unparalleled to what the hospital provides. I was taken care of beautifully in the comfort of my own home and space, and Aliaja took care of everything - 2 hours after delivering and it was like no one was ever there, just me and my husband basking in the glow of our baby girl finally being earth side. If you are considering a home birth, I'm here to say you can and should do it! You are in safe and capable hands with Aliaja, and you will not regret it! My husband was a little nervous to birth at home but was trusting of me and Aliaja; afterwards he said he was a changed man and if we were ever to do this again, it would be at home with Aliaja! We sincerely can't recommend Aliaja enough for your home birth - you will not regret it!
